At the start of the year, I began worked on Denimfest 2023 at a time where I was dealing with a lot of personal challenges. Initially I was brought on to help with social media strategy but they decided to rebrand. Denimfest was a Country Music festival in Forest City, Iowa.
One of my students asked “how often do you fall in love with what your making?” The realities of design is somethings you don’t have time to fall in love. But it is our job to try to at least lead the client into a better place than where they started. Denimfest 2023 was very much that. I had about 3 months to complete over 300 design requests, ranging from overall brand development, social media, merchandise, signage, email newsletters, illustrations, some motion, etc. A lot of the final development and production came while my mom was undergoing having a double mastectomy and had some complications. It felt like a whirlwind and looking back there would be a lot of things I would have changed, given the chance. There were a lot of challenges, opinions, and denim lol but I am proud of what I was able to accomplish with the time and constraints.
Unfortunately evidence of DF 2023 was wiped due to investor issues. This project was completed while working with Silverlake Digital Agency.
